Service & pricing

How much does robot repair cost in Vancouver?

KeepRobots charges a flat $80 CAD diagnostic fee per unit, a $50 CAD call-out fee per visit inside our core Metro Vancouver zone, and $80 CAD per hour for on-site labour. Parts are charged at catalogue price. The diagnostic fee is credited in full against the repair if you approve the work, so a typical first visit with one hour on site comes to $130 CAD plus parts and GST. All rates are confirmed in writing before any billable work starts.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Remote triage is free — if we can tell you over email or a video call that it's a firmware reset you can do yourself, that costs nothing. The $80 diagnostic fee applies only once an engineer physically inspects the machine.

What areas do you cover?

Our core service zone is Metro Vancouver, British Columbia: Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, New Westminster, Delta and Langley. Travel outside that zone is quoted separately, and we do travel further for project work and for contract customers.

How quickly can you come out?

We reply to every service request within one business day. Actual attendance depends on the zone, the fault, and whether the part is held locally. Guaranteed response times are written into maintenance and fleet contracts rather than promised for one-off calls.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. Scheduled plans cover visits at an interval set by your duty cycle with consumables included, and fleet plans add written response targets, on-site consignment of your critical spares and a named engineer. Contract customers don't pay call-out fees.

What we service

Which robots do you repair?

Wheeled service robots (delivery, serving, floor scrubbers, vacuums, disinfection and guide robots), robotic arms and work cells, humanoid and full-body platforms, quadrupeds and companion robots, outdoor mowers and security patrol units, and embodied-AI data-capture hardware such as handheld capture grippers and teleoperation rigs.

Do you work on brands you didn't sell?

That is most of our work. KeepRobots is brand-agnostic — we don't sell robots and we're not an exclusive dealer for anyone, so we service whatever make you already own.

Can you fix a robot whose manufacturer is overseas and unresponsive?

Usually, yes. Our engineers read Chinese service documentation and contact factory support during the manufacturer's own working hours. Where a part is only available from the maker, we source and import it on your behalf.

Do you repair consumer robot vacuums and lawn mowers?

Yes, on the bench rather than on site. For a low-value unit we'll tell you upfront whether a repair makes economic sense before you pay for a diagnostic.

Do you work on elevators?

No. Elevator equipment is regulated and that work belongs to a licensed elevator contractor, under permit and inspection where Technical Safety BC requires it. We own the robot side of the interface — the gateway, the call logic and the floor-by-floor testing — and we coordinate with the building's elevator contractor.

Parts

Can I buy spare parts from KeepRobots?

Our catalogue of 82 items is published with indicative pricing, but we are in pre-launch and not shipping yet. You can send a request list and we will come back with confirmed pricing, lead time and stock. Nothing is charged on the website.

What does the wear class on each part mean?

Every item is graded as a consumable (replaced on a schedule, like brushes and filters), a wear part (replaced on damage or fade, like drive wheels and batteries), or a core component (serial-tracked, with a real lead time, like LiDAR and control boards). The grade tells you whether to order it on a calendar or keep one on the shelf.

Where do the service-life figures come from?

They are our own field figures for typical duty cycles in the buildings we service in Metro Vancouver, not manufacturer ratings. They are a planning range: the same drive wheel lasts very differently on terrazzo and on carpet.

Will you sell me a part so I can fit it myself?

Yes. Many of our customers' maintenance teams do their own swaps, and we'll tell you which jobs are safe to do in-house and which aren't.

For manufacturers

We build robots overseas and have nobody in Canada. What can you do?

We act as your field team: pre-sales site surveys, commissioning and go-live to your procedures, warranty and RMA work with root-cause reporting, and consignment spare-parts stock held in Vancouver. Arrangements are non-exclusive, we'll work under your brand or ours, and we're happy to work alongside a distributor you already have.

Do you require exclusivity or a territory?

No. Most partnerships start with a single deployment or a small consignment of fast-moving spares, so both sides can see the numbers before committing to anything wider.

Can you hold our spare parts locally?

Yes. You keep title until the part is used. We fit your parts on real machines and send you failure data, not just reorders.
