Robot repair and field service in Canada

Updated

Short answer: KeepRobots is a robot field service company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We repair, deploy, maintain and demo robots made by other companies, on site across Canada and in the United States, billed by the hour and only when needed. Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley get the fastest response, the rest of BC and Alberta are covered on scheduled trips, and the rest of Canada per project. Any make; English and Mandarin.

Contact: service request form, support@keeprobots.com (service and parts) or partners@keeprobots.com (robot manufacturers).

What we do

  • On-site repair. Diagnosis, module swaps, calibration and re-test at your site, billed by the hour from arrival. A written report on every job: root cause, parts replaced, what to watch next.
  • Remote triage. Send the model, serial, error code and a short video. We check it against known failure modes and tell you if it is something you can clear yourself before anyone is dispatched.
  • Deployment and commissioning. Site survey, unboxing, mapping, Wi-Fi and elevator or door integration, route tuning and staff training for new robots.
  • Preventive maintenance. Scheduled visits for fleets: cleaning, wear-part replacement, firmware updates and battery health checks, with response targets in writing.
  • Pre-sales demos. We bring a robot to a prospect's site and run the demo, alongside the manufacturer's sales team or on our own.
  • Spare parts and unit storage. We hold a manufacturer's or operator's spare parts and demo or idle units in Vancouver, so a repair does not wait for a shipment from overseas.
  • Warranty and RMA field work. On-site warranty work on behalf of the manufacturer, under their brand or ours.

Robots we service

  • Wheeled service robots: delivery, serving, floor scrubbing, vacuum, disinfection and guide robots
  • Logistics robots and AMRs
  • Robotic arms, cobots and work cells
  • Humanoids and full-body platforms
  • Quadrupeds and companion robots
  • Outdoor mowers, security patrol and inspection robots
  • Embodied-AI data-capture hardware and other large automated equipment

We do not manufacture or sell robots and we are not an exclusive dealer for any brand.

How a job runs

  1. Report the fault. Model, serial, error code and a short video, through the contact form or support@keeprobots.com.
  2. Remote triage. We reply within one business day, check the fault against known failure modes and list the parts a fix would likely need.
  3. Quote and schedule. Diagnostic, hourly rate, travel and parts quoted before dispatch. Outside the local area we plan the trip around parts availability.
  4. Fix and verify. Repair and calibrate, then run the robot through its real route or duty cycle before we call it done.
  5. Report. Root cause in writing, plus the spare parts worth keeping on site so the next failure is a short swap.

Who this is for

  • Businesses running robots in Canada: hotels, restaurants, hospitals, warehouses, offices, campuses and facility service companies whose robots need on-site repair or maintenance and whose maker has no technician nearby.
  • Robot manufacturers entering Canada and the US that need a local field team without hiring one: deployment, after-sales repair, demos and spare-parts storage, under their brand or ours. See North America field service for robot manufacturers.

FAQ

Do you repair robots anywhere in Canada?

Yes. We are based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley get the fastest response; the rest of BC and Alberta are covered on scheduled trips; Ontario, Quebec and the rest of Canada are served on site per project, with travel quoted in advance.

Which robot brands do you work on?

Any make. We do not manufacture or sell robots and are not an exclusive dealer for any brand, so we work on service, cleaning, delivery and logistics robots, arms, humanoids and quadrupeds regardless of who made them.

How much does robot repair cost in Canada?

Our published rates are a C$200 diagnostic per visit (credited against an approved repair), a C$100 call-out in the Greater Vancouver core zone and C$150 per hour on-site labour, before tax. Travel outside the core zone and parts are quoted before the job.

Can you work with a manufacturer in China?

Yes. We work in English and Mandarin, our engineers read Chinese technical documentation, and we coordinate with factory support during China working hours. Where a part is only available from the maker, we can source and import it.

Are you a robot manufacturer's authorized service partner?

We work as a non-exclusive field service partner for robot manufacturers that do not have their own team in Canada, under their brand or ours. Check with your robot's maker whether third-party service affects your warranty; we can coordinate with them before any work starts.

Do you also cover the United States?

Yes, on site per project, at US$200 diagnostic and US$150 per hour labour, with travel quoted per project.
